The Piano Department of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, together with the Lithuanian Ferenc Liszt Association Lisztuania, has completed its fifth competition for Lithuanian pianists to win an individual professional recording “Lisztuania”. The event, which took place on October 16-19, 2025, in Vilnius and Paliesius Manor, once again demonstrated that Ferenc Liszt’s work is not only an interpretative challenge, but also a springboard for the mastery of the younger generation.

An international cooperation agreement between the Lithuanian Liszt Association “Lisztuania” and the Ferenc Liszt Music Festival was signed on 20 October 2024 at the Royal Palace of Gödöllő. The two organisations, which promote Liszt’s music worldwide, have agreed to share and jointly disseminate information and recommend to each other the best of their artists for concerts in Hungary and Lithuania.

On 11 April 2024, Lithuania’s President, Mūza Rubackytė, was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit in Vilnius. The Order was given for her “consistent and purposeful promotion of Liszt, the founding of the “Lisztuania” Association and the regular organization of the Lisztofonia competition”. The award was presented by the President of Hungary Tamás Sulyok.
